Chaul Karma- Moondan

namkarna

Moondan, also known as Chaul Karma or Chudakarna, is the eighth sansakara (a revered custom) in the holy Hindu tradition and is celebrated as a happy event.

Like other sanskaras, Moondan or Mundan, too has a meaningful significance. Shaving the head is a symbol that the child is free from previous bondages. With the chanting of sacred mantras, the child is welcomed into the world.

Because Moondan is both a holy practice and a large family event, it’s important to choose a suitable location. And Dwarka is perfect in every sense.

Dwarka has everything you would desire for a Moondan ceremony.

  • Learned priests who can carry out the entire ceremony as per traditions
  • Hotels and resorts where you can accommodate guests in all budget ranges
  • Temples where everyone can seek blessings for the ceremony
  • Supportive infrastructure that is well-equipped to serve your guests

Make sure your child’s Moondan is carried out in the correct traditional manner and gives you and your family lovely memories of your child’s first major function.
